An intimate mind body healing retreat in a small group including a private 121 therapy session
Come home to who you really are on retreat in the beautiful Craignish peninsula in Argyll Scotland. I will hold you in a deeply caring space while we explore those things that keep us stuck in the stress response, dropping out of the head and returning to the wisdom of the physical body. Wherever you are on your mind body healing journey- whether your're experiencing chronic symptoms and are new to the approach- or whether you have been round the block and are familiar with the knowledge but are stuck with putting it onto place- I will give you a rich experience of feeling these techniques in your body- because it's through this felt sense, through experiencing the shifts in the body that we truly make the changes we are looking for. I will gently guide you through a combination of somatic practice, emotional embodiment and mind body teaching as we make a deep and lasting connection with our bodies and find our way back to homeostasis and regulation- rediscovering, releasing and rebuilding.
We have grown distant from ourselves and lost our way- our bodies are responding with physical symptoms, anxiety, dysfunction and disconnection. But it doesn't need to be this way- together we can learn to befriend our bodies, release stuck emotions and rediscover who we were before life took it's toll, and who we can be now.
A place to heal
Argyll has a special place in my heart and I am excited to share it with you- I spent many childhood weekends and holidays here, escaping from the concrete of a new town to my grandparents' bolthole by the sea to skim stones, build dens in the trees and comb the beach for treasure. There is a certain scent in the air of ferns, coal fires and the salty sea which has always called me back, and it is the perfect landscape to hold and nurture us- I think you will fall in love with the place too. Retreats are the perfect space to grow and heal as they offer the ideal conditions for tuning in to what's really going on for us, away from the day to day stresses of home. A space to really reflect and tune in to our inner wisdom- equipping us with new insight and tools to take back with us into our daily lives, kickstarting our healing and recovery from chronic symptoms.
We will live and practice in community, forming a small family group for the duration of the retreat- a place to feel truly safe and supported.
The heart knows it's way home
Our practices on retreat will be deeply heart-led and I will be holding you in compassion and support throughout. We will explore the landscape of our emotions through somatic practice including parts work, gentle somatic movement and emotional embodiment. My teaching will include mind body science, wisdom from my own recovery and experience of working with clients and patients. I will bring knowledge and techniques from my training in EAET (Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy) to help you get unstuck and bring new insight into what is causing your nervous system to be stay in fight, flight or freeze, providing the opportunity for release. Practices will be spread throughout the day with free time in the afternoon for rest and reflection.
Booking your space
The investment for the retreat is £695 which includes accommodation, teaching, all meals and a private, 121 therapy session with me. Arrival is from 5pm on Sunday 21st April 2024 and the retreat finishes on the morning of the 25th April. We can arrange pick up in a shared taxi from the nearest train station in Oban. The retreat venue is accessible for those with limited mobility and further details/ all booking terms and conditions will be provided by email.
